Tips on Sweet Sixteen Parties

by Hispanic

Marking the transition from childhood to adulthood, sweet sixteen parties are meant to be remembered. Your little girl is no longer the cute kid in a pink dress with pigtails. She may now be donning stylish jeans and have her hair tied up in a fashionable ponytail. She is also now more independent than before. To celebrate the momentous day in her life, throw her a birthday bash worth remembering.

First, you should think of a theme for the party. Themes make a party more enjoyable and memorable. Think of a good theme that is centered on your daughter’s set of interests. If she likes a certain movie, you can turn the venue of the event into a makeshift version of that movie. If she loves rock music, you can set-up a stage and hire a real rock band to play during your daughter’s party. Ask your daughter and her guests to dress-up in accordance to the given theme to make the event more special.

To make the party more special, set up a program for your daughter and her guest’s enjoyment. You can prepare games to liven up the event. If you’re planning a really big party, then set the games aside and ready the dance floor. It would be difficult to manage so many people during games; it would be better if they simply hang out and dance the night away.

Prepare music that your daughter likes, not oldies that’ll embarrass her. However, if you’re throwing a party with a theme, you can play music that matches that theme. For example, if the theme is Hawaiian, then you can play Hawaiian tunes at the start, and then go for more upbeat tunes later on.

One more thing, your daughter is still far from the legal age. You can serve “mocktails” instead of real alcohol beverages to still give off a slightly mature feel to the event.

When the party ends, your daughter will add her sweet sixteen party to the list of most treasured events in her life.
